Each DC optimiser harvests the maximum amount of power from the module to which it is connected, whereas in a string inverter system the power drops to the power of the lowest performing panel. This takes advantage of Positive Power Tolerance, which can’t be done without Panel Level Optimisation tech, and alone results in 2% to 5% more output.

Panels can be installed on different pitches and orientations – handy for awkwardly shaped roofs and small houses. Power optimisers automatically maintain a fixed string voltage, which allows for greater flexibility with longer strings and strings of different length.

DC Power optimisers split the traditional string inverters into two separate parts. The panel optimiser is attached to the solar panel, and the inverter does the DC to AC conversion. This gives you the benefits of panel level optimisation with the cost savings of using a string inverter.
