PROJECT SUMMARY

Smith’s Hill High School installed their new solar system in late 2018. The school will reduce their yearly CO2 emissions by 189.3 Tonnes.
Smith’s Hill High School is part of a growing movement of schools installing solar. Why are schools going with solar? It decreases electricity costs and it is a great up-close educational tool on so many topics.
From a solar system, students can learn about physics, engineering, construction, photovoltaics, and investing. What a great tool for science and economics classes!
The 189.3 Tonnes in CO2 emissions that the Smith’s Hill High School rooftop solar PV system will offset is the equivalent of 40.2 passenger cars driven for one year, or 22.7 homes’ energy use for one year.
