BP Fox Hills Petrol Station Solar Install
PROJECT SUMMARY
BP Fox Hills is a petrol station in Bermagui. They are offsetting the electricity costs of their retail store with solar.
The expansion of the retail store in petrol stations makes solar an attractive proposition, with lower electricity prices than can be expected from grid electricity. There are other features which make solar the right choice for petrol stations. Consider also the flat roofs, and 24/7 electricity consumption requirements of petrol stations.
Petrol stations hold thousands of litres of highly flammable liquid, so they need solar that they can trust. SolarEdge’s SafeDC feature, integrated in all SolarEdge inverters, helps provide that safety. It shuts down DC current, as well as the voltage in string wires, when the inverter is turned off or in safety mode.
BP Fox Hill’s new system is set to save them $10,638 per year and be paid off in 3.8 years. It will offset 263 Tonnes of CO2 emissions which is the equivalent of taking 55.8 cars off the road for a year.
