Albion Park Public School’s solar investment
PROJECT SUMMARY
Albion Park Public School is in the Illawarra region, with average temperatures of 17 to 27 degrees year round. This is good for the solar, which likes temperate weather.
Albion Park Public School chose RK Solar for its experience in installing solar for schools. We’ve completed 7 school installs – from 5kW for a private pre-school, to 100kW for a high school – in the last couple years.
They opted in for an overclocked solar system that would turn on optimum inverter efficiency faster, for more output. Solar panels will supply less than 25% of the match size inverter’s capacity in the early morning and late afternoon. The result would be even less of that turning into power that can by used by the school. Not with an overclocked system.
One of the ideal situations for solar is the school. While peripherals are on around the clock, peak energy usage meets the sun. Computers are on, projectors are on, lights are on, school is in.
