4.Check for Rebates – Cheaper Home Batteries 2025
The Cheaper Home Batteries Program was launched on 1st July 2025, a $2.3 billion initiative aimed at helping households, small businesses, and community organisations reduce battery installation costs.
This program offers an upfront discount of around 30% on battery systems that meet specific eligibility requirements. To qualify –
The battery system must have a nominal capacity between 5 kWh and 100 kWh.
You can stack smaller modular batteries to meet the 5 kWh minimum, as long as the total system falls within the required range.
For systems up to 100 kWh, Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) are only available for the first 50 kWh of usable capacity.
Tip – Don’t leave money on the table. With support kicked off 1 July 2025, now is the time to plan. Whether you are starting fresh or upgrading an older system, check the eligibility criteria and take full advantage of the savings.
