16.5kW Solar Installed at Minimbah Challenge in Marsfield

PROJECT SUMMARY

Minimbah Challenge is a disability services provider in Marsfield that provides support for people with an intellectual disability. They offer a wide range of services which create a high electricity consumption load year round.

In 2017, RK Solar was awarded the Minimbah Challenge tender on SolarChoice. We helped them reduce their electricity costs so that their funds could be reallocated to these core services, helping more clients. They also decreased their exposure to unpredictable grid electricity prices, making it easier to budget expenses.

Results – the system is set to save them over $5,000 per year and be paid off in 4.2 years. This gives them a return of investment of 23.93%. The predictable increased cash flow from predicted solar irradiation enables Minimbah to explore new opportunities years ahead.

Update – Minimbah Challenge has been able to secure the funds to expand their system by 11kW and decrease their electricity costs further.
