The RK Solar team successfully commissioned a 100kW commercial solar installation in Minto, NSW. Our client is a leading manufacturer and supplier of road safety barrier systems. Because of the scale of the manufacturing work that goes on inside the site, our client needed a system that could support their energy usage.
Challenges of this Solar Installation:
This installation was a challenging one because it required our installers to safely transport 200 panels over a large area of the roof. The layout of the premise was such that we could only use our scissor lift in one end of the building, carry all the panels to the other end, and then bring the panel onto another level of the roof where the panels were to be installed.
This process needed all hands on deck as it was a time and physically consuming one.
Commercial Solar System Components:
Having understood their requirements, we proposed a 100kW system that combined 200x Trina Vertex 500W solar panels with an SMA Sunny Tripower CORE2 inverter. Our team was confident in recommending the Trina panels and SMA inverter, as we’ve had years of experience using these products in our installations and monitoring their performance.
1) Trina Vertex 500W solar panels:
Trina Vertex 500W panels are designed for utility and Commercial and Industrial projects.
- Higher power:
The panels have a better temperature coefficient (-0.35%) resulting in more power generation. The Vertex modules conversion efficiency can reach up to 21%, boasting a power output of over 500W. - Multi-busbar technology:
Multi-busbar, with the capability to increase light absorption, perfectly matches the large-area cell. Technology integration enables these Vertex modules to achieve higher power and power generation capacity per watt. - 1/3-cut technology:
1/3-cut replaces the traditional half-cut technology and solves the issues resulting from high system current while reducing power loss.
2) SMA Sunny Tripower CORE2 inverter:
- Flexibility in system design for large-scale commercial solutions for ground-mounted and rooftop systems.

3) Clenergy PV-ezRack Mounting System
For a high quality solar installation, every single component used (down to the smallest parts) must be made with high quality materials.
When installing a solar system, we fix the solar panels onto a mounting system. The mounting system provides structural support for your solar panels.
