1) Flexible Modular Design

The Luna2000 battery has a modular design and can be scaled based on your energy storage needs. Huawei’s Smart String ESS design allows three battery modules to be stacked on top of each other to form a 15kWh system. This can be parallelly connected to another similarly stacked set of modules to create a maximum capacity of 30kWh. The battery modules come with built-in energy optimizers to support new and old battery modules mixed in one system without energy restriction. Essentially, you can keep expanding your LUNA energy storage as your energy needs grow.

2) More Usable Energy – 100% Depth of Discharge

100% Depth of Discharge (DoD) refers to the level at which a solar battery is emptied in relation to its total capacity. This plays a role in how much of the battery you can use and how long it will last. Huawei Luna2000’s 100% DoD is comparable to that of Tesla Powerwall 2.

3) Emergency Back-Up Power

The Luna2000 battery can provide an emergency power supply during a blackout, with the inclusion of Huawei’s backup box. This feature has become indispensable for Australian homes, especially during storm season. The Backup Box basically controls the inverter’s grid-tied or off-grid state. During an outage, the inverter switches to the off-grid state and supplies power in backup mode. When power is restored, the inverter switches back to the normal grid-tied state.

4) Smart Management System

Using Huawei’s FusionSolar App or web portal, users can keep a track of their solar energy system. This includes monitoring details such as solar energy export, import, and consumption levels.
