Hamilton Medical Centre Offsets Daytime Electricity Costs
PROJECT SUMMARY
Hamilton Medical Centre is a small, friendly boutique family medical practice, in the heart of busy Hamilton. As a community medical centre, they are open about 10 to 11 hours a day. The centre operates 5 days a week, Monday to Friday.
Hamilton experiences good sunlight, which can be put to good use by the solar system. The lack of shade above the site led the centre to chose a string inverter system. An allowance between each line of panels allows for easy maintenance in the event it is needed.
Hamilton Medical Centre’s solar PV system is expected to decrease their electricity costs by 40% to 70% depending on the time of year. This locks in lower energy prices for 25 years or more. It also gives them the opportunity to reallocate those resources to other elements of the organisation, for example by purchasing new equipment, hire more staff, or just to build ua fund for future needs.
This install took 5 days.
The tender for this install was awarded in 2017.
HEALTHCARE AND SOLAR
High energy consumption medical devices make solar an attractive option for health care service organisations.
Additionally, heating, air conditioning systems, computers, and printing also contribute to sky-high utility bills. The digitisation of healthcare in Australia makes for readable prescription forms, but also higher energy use.
Solar offers a seamless way for healthcare companies to reduce their electricity costs without impacting service quality. A good ambience goes a long way towards quality service.
